"Hi! My name is Myrph and I am a dog behavior instructor in the Binghamton area, and
have been teaching people how to live happily with their dogs for 30 years now. I have
known Kelly Hotchkiss since 2001.

I’d like to share a story with Kelly’s prospective customers that might speak to you about
her innate sense of connection and ease with dogs.

This story took place in late 2001.
William Hotchkiss had been coming to my training classes on and off for a number of
years with his Akitas. He had acquired a new, large, adolescent, male dog that was
having some aggression / behavior issues. I had come to know William as a
conscientious and very competent dog handler. After class one evening, he informed
me that he could not attend class the following week, and inquired if it might be
acceptable for his (then) girlfriend to bring this particular dog to class next week in his
place? Keep in mind that my concern as a training class instructor is for the relaxed
comfort level and safety of all of the dogs and people in my classes. So I inquired of
William if he was certain that his friend, Kelly, could manage this dog in class as well as
he had been doing, and shared with him my concerns. As an introductory safety
measure, William and I came to the agreement that the first time Kelly was to handle
this particular dog in a class setting, that he would come as well, stay on the sidelines
and be ready to take over, should Kelly have difficulty managing the dog.

When the class was complete that evening, William approached me and asked how I
thought things went? My comment to him was “William……Kelly handles this dog much
better than you do. The dog was calmer, quieter, and more relaxed in Kelly’s hands.”

Since that time years ago, Kelly has attended many of my classes with a variety of
dogs. In addition to her innate talent at connecting with dogs, she has taken the time
and trouble to educate herself thoroughly on canine behavior and training. Over the
years, I have watched her develop into a first rate dog handler. I have also experienced
her to be an exceptionally honorable and conscientious person.

There are only a small number of people on this planet that I trust the care of my dogs
to. Kelly is one of them. I feel totally comfortable leaving my dogs in her care."
